Rehab and Movement
Movement is medicine, and our rehab services, including physiotherapy, trauma-informed personal training, and massage therapy, are focused on restoring strength, mobility, and resilience. Whether you're recovering from injury or aiming to enhance performance, these services help improve posture, reduce pain, and build functional strength so you can move well for life.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic care is a patient-centered treatment that focuses on optimizing the neuromusculoskeletal system to restore proper movement and function. By combining joint manipulation and soft tissue therapy with neuromuscular education and rehabilitation, this approach works to improve the nervous system's connection to the body. It empowers patients to take an active role in their recovery through deeper body awareness and targeted rehabilitation.
Trauma-Informed Personal Training
Trauma-informed personal training blends personal training with social work theories to create a more holistic approach to fitness. This anti-oppressive method emphasizes healing and movement, addressing not just the physical but also the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of your experience. Together, we work in a safe, collaborative space where you are seen and heard. We’ll explore your body’s story and identify the needs you want to address, working together to achieve your goals.
Physiotherapy
Physical therapy, or physiotherapy, is a treatment that works to restore proper biomechanics in the body, by using physical methods such as dry needling, active release therapy, massage, and cupping. Physiotherapy also aims to put a lot of power in the patients’ hands via individual rehabilitation exercise prescription.
Dry needling (IMS)
IMS stands for Intramuscular Stimulation, and is the insertion and manipulation of fine acupuncture needles directly into muscular trigger points; spots where muscle fibres are stuck in contraction, causing shortening, tightening, and neuropathic pain.
FAQ
IMS, or intramuscular stimulation, is a much different needle technique compared to acupuncture. Although IMS uses acupuncture needles, they are used one at a time and manipulated in a way to cause muscle contraction, followed by relaxation (a “twitch” response).
IMS is most commonly performed by physiotherapists. However, our naturopathic doctors and TCM doctors are trained in this technique as well.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is a form of manual therapy that involves manipulating soft tissues, like muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. to improve well-being and health, often used to relieve pain, reduce stress, and promote relaxation.
