At Elevate, our mission has always been simple: help active people stay active for life.
We do this by combining regenerative medicine, metabolic health, and movement-based recovery to treat the whole person — not just the symptoms.
And now, we’re adding another powerful layer to that mission: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Emma Dolan, our newest practitioner at Elevate Functional Health
Who Is Dr. Emma Dolan?
Dr. Emma is a licensed Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturist with advanced training in acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping therapy, and Gua Sha.
She brings a gentle yet deeply knowledgeable approach to healing, blending ancient wisdom with modern clinical understanding.
Her philosophy fits perfectly with ours:
“When the body is in balance, it can heal itself.”
Whether she’s supporting patients recovering from injuries, helping regulate hormones, or calming an overworked nervous system, Emma focuses on restoring that internal balance so your body can function — and perform — at its best.
What Is Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is one of the oldest and most comprehensive medical systems in the world.
It views the body as an interconnected network of systems — physical, emotional, and energetic.
At its core, TCM aims to restore Qi (pronounced “chee”) — your body’s vital energy — so it can flow freely through your meridians (energy pathways).
When Qi becomes blocked or imbalanced, symptoms appear: pain, fatigue, anxiety, poor digestion, hormonal swings, or slow recovery from training.
How Emma’s Work Complements Regenerative Medicine
If you’re already familiar with our regenerative therapies like Prolotherapy or NAD+ IV Therapy, you’ll love how seamlessly TCM fits in.
Here’s how the two approaches work together:
Prolotherapy + Acupuncture: Prolo rebuilds connective tissue, while acupuncture reduces inflammation and improves circulation — enhancing recovery.
NAD+ Therapy + Herbal Medicine: NAD+ boosts cellular energy; herbal support helps regulate stress, sleep, and digestion to sustain those energy gains.
Metabolic + Hormone Health + TCM: By addressing the nervous system and endocrine balance, acupuncture helps regulate cortisol, thyroid, and reproductive hormones.
In short: regenerative medicine repairs, while TCM rebalances.
Together, they create a synergy that helps patients recover faster, move better, and feel calmer.
Conditions Emma Commonly Treats:
Emma’s practice is ideal for patients dealing with:
- Stress, anxiety, and sleep issues
- Digestive concerns (bloating, IBS, sluggish metabolism)
- Women's health concerns including, perimenopause and menstrual irregularities
- Fertility
- Fatigue and burnout
- Headaches and TMJ dysfunction
What to Expect During a Session
Your first visit with Dr. Emma starts with a thorough conversation — about your symptoms, lifestyle, stress levels, and goals, followed by pulse and tongue diagnosis.
She’ll then design a treatment plan that may include acupuncture, herbal formulas, cupping, or Gua Sha.
Most patients describe treatments as relaxing, grounding, and surprisingly energizing.
Many even fall asleep during their sessions (and we take that as a win!).
