### Chiropractic

Chiropractic care is a patient-centered treatment that focuses on optimizing the neuromusculoskeletal system to restore proper movement and function. By combining joint manipulation and soft tissue therapy with neuromuscular education and rehabilitation, this approach works to improve the nervous system's connection to the body. It empowers patients to take an active role in their recovery through deeper body awareness and targeted rehabilitation.

Who it's for

This service is designed for anyone seeking a more holistic approach to personal training—one that doesn’t focus solely on the physical, but considers all aspects of your goals. It's also perfect for those new to movement who aren’t sure where to start, as well as individuals who may not be able to afford out-of-pocket personal training. Many insurance companies will cover these sessions.

What to expect

The first session is a check-in where we’ll discuss your goals and what you hope to achieve. From there, we’ll tailor integrated training sessions to meet your specific needs. Every session is unique and personalized, so it will vary depending on the person. Some clients prefer just to move, while others may want to talk and process. Some may prefer a combination of both.

Results

Expect increased self-awareness, better body awareness, and more confidence in your movements. You'll feel more grounded and empowered in your physical journey, with results that are specific to you.

Cost

Sessions are priced between $150-$200, depending on whether they are individual or for couples. Lisa also offers a sliding scale for those who need it.

### Physiotherapy

Physical therapy, or physiotherapy, is a treatment that works to restore proper biomechanics in the body, by using physical methods such as dry needling, active release therapy, massage, and cupping. Physiotherapy also aims to put a lot of power in the patients’ hands via individual rehabilitation exercise prescription.

When performed by a skilled practitioner, you will experience muscle “twitches” during treatment. These twitches can sometimes be painful, but most patients find the quick muscle contractions to be relieving.

Results

Pain relief, lengthening and relaxation of tight muscles, and improved muscular function.

Cost

Included as part of physiotherapy appointments if indicated ($110-$180)

## FAQ

What is the difference between IMS and acupuncture?

IMS, or intramuscular stimulation, is a much different needle technique compared to acupuncture. Although IMS uses acupuncture needles, they are used one at a time and manipulated in a way to cause muscle contraction, followed by relaxation (a “twitch” response).

What practitioners are able to perform IMS?

IMS is most commonly performed by physiotherapists. However, our naturopathic doctors and TCM doctors are trained in this technique as well.

### Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a form of manual therapy that involves manipulating soft tissues, like muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. to improve well-being and health, often used to relieve pain, reduce stress, and promote relaxation.
